Home Sweet Home

I’m from a place called Wakayama.

During my commute to my former job, I drove along Route 42, a highway with many scenic sections overlooking the sea.

The other day during our visit home, while driving along this road, my husband and I witnessed an intoxicating sunset, just as the sun slipped behind the clouds on the horizon. How lovely!

It’s hard to believe that, at one time, I experienced sunsets like this daily on my way home from work. I had a reaffirmation that yes, this was a pretty extravagent way to live.

“It’s nice having a place you go home to.” This happy thought enveloped my husband and I as we chatted quietly during our ride back to Osaka. Well, it’s nice to have a place to go home to even if we didn’t return to America this time around. But if you ask me, 1 out of 2 ain’t half bad!
